Video Professor Windows® Video Tutorials

I had the chance the other day to look at Video Professor’s Windows Vista® tutorial.

You see, I have had Vista on my machine ever since I got it, which may have been a year ago. Back then it was a real dog. They released it way before it was ready. In fact, when I first took it for a test drive at a local electronics store, the machine crashed. Hmm. When I bought my machine, I had to do a complete system restore in the first 24 hours. That never had to be done again, but Internet Explorer kept crashing because it wasn’t completely compatible with Flash.

MY HP laptop has dual Intel processors, and the only way to actually use those dual processors is have Vista. A year into owning and using the operating system, all these problems have gone away.

Windows Vista has a lot of ‘Mac’ like features that make it really cool to use. You have the widgets and the style of the windows have been totally revamped. The edges of the inactive windows are transparent. It is a really cool look.

Now that I have been using Vista for a while, I thought I had it figured out. Not so. Video Professor has over three hours of video of all the features and how to use them. I only took a quick glance at the lessons, but I already learned tips and tricks that I never knew Vista could do.

You get to click on parts of the computer you are interested in learning about and the narrator provides you with a few words about that part and you also get to rotate the image in 3D with your mouse to get a closer look at it. I have included a screen shot form the video here.

Vista also has enhanced security features that require some explaining such as the so-called ‘User Account Control’ feature, and this Video Professor Windows tutorial does a good job at it. The second image is a screen shot of the video explaining this feature.

Video Professor also has videos on other Windows Products such as XP, ME and even Windows ’98 if you need them.
